BOOKING PROCESS FOR WRITING IN-PERSON IN A TEST CENTER
  • Go to MyCLHA account; Click "Exam Launchpad" on the left hand side, Launch the Meazure Portal 
  • Navigate to the Exams page.
  • Click Book on your exam title.
  • Select the "In-Person Test-Center" tab
  • Enter the Postal Code or city name into which you want to take your exam
  • Select one of the facilities presented to you
  • Click the date and time that works best for you
  • Click "Submit".

WHAT ARE ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION?

Acceptable Identification:

You must bring two current valid (not expired, original ID, no photocopies) government-issued identifications with your first and last name, one must include photo identification and signature. The first and last name that you used to register must match exactly the first and last name on the ID that you present at the time of your test. The proctor will use this to confirm your identity. 

Candidates will not be permitted to test without proper ID. Acceptable methods of identification are:

  • Birth certificate
  • Passport and/or NEXUS card
  • Canadian driver’s license
  • Canadian citizenship card
  • Alberta identification card
  • Permanent resident card
  • Treaty status card
  • Canadian immigration visa
  • Correctional Services Canada card
  • Employee ID for child and family service authority card
  • Firearms card
  • Canadian Forces identification card
  • Corrections officer identification card

Unacceptable Identification:

Candidates will not be permitted to test without proper ID. Acceptable methods of identification are:

  • Social insurance card
  • Alberta health care card
  • Non-government-issued identification documents

Important: Candidates writing in a test center will also be required submit a printed copy of their booking confirmation email to the proctor.

WHAT IS PERMITTED/PROHIBITED FOR IN-PERSON WRITING DURING THE EXAM?

Permitted Items

  • The test center will provide you with a Meazure Learning whiteboard and marker.
  • Disposable ear plugs
  • The testing location will provide you with the computer needed to write your exam.
  • An online notepad will be available within the exam.
  • Candidates are not permitted to use scrap paper.

Please note: Bottled water is not allowed in the testing room.

Prohibited Items

  • Smart and/or Google glasses are not permitted. Candidates wearing glasses may be asked to give them to the proctor for inspection. No glasses with electronics, even if they have prescription lenses, will be permitted in the exam room.
  • Candidates are not permitted to wear watches.
  • Cameras, cell phones, optical readers, or other electronic devices that include the ability to photograph, photocopy, or otherwise copy test materials;
  • Notes, books, dictionaries, or language dictionaries
  • Bookbags or luggage;
  • Purses or handbags;
  • iPods, mp3 players, tablets, headphones, or pagers;
  • Additional computers, PDAs, or other electronic devices with one or more memories;
  • Personal writing utensils such as pencils, pens, and highlighters;
  • Medicine, including cough drops (except as expressly permitted in advance);
  • Food and beverages;
  • Coats and jackets;
  • Hats, hoods, or other headwear are not permitted in the examination room unless required for religious purposes. All items are subject to inspection by the proctor if suspicious behavior is detected;
  • Please note that sweaters and sweatshirts without pockets or hoods are permitted to be worn; and
  • Smart glasses are not permitted. Candidates wearing glasses may be asked to give them to the proctor for inspection. No glasses with electronics, even if they have prescription lenses, will be permitted in the exam room.
ARE BREAKS PERMITTED FOR IN-PERSON WRITING DURING THE EXAM?

A washroom break is allowed, however, your examination timer does not stop and you are not given additional time for a washroom break. It is highly recommended candidates use the washroom before the start of their examination.

Rescheduling Policies FOR IN-PERSON WRITING

You may reschedule your exam at least 48 hours prior to your appointment time.

You may cancel your exam at least 48 hours prior to your appointment time.

To reschedule, navigate to your Exams Page from your MyCLHA site and click the ‘Cancel’ or ‘Reschedule’ button.

IS THERE A TUTORIAL EXAM I CAN TAKE?

Yes. The tutorial is designed to help you get familiar with the exam software. Try it as many times as you’d like!

This assessment is to help candidates gain familiarity with the examination interface and its functions so you are more comfortable on examination day. This exam can be taken as many times as you wish and does not affect your assessment time.

HOW DO I GET MY RESULTS?

Approximately 2-3 weeks after the administration window, you will be sent an email with instructions to review your score.

To view this, you will log back into your account, and on your "Exams" page, you will see the "History" link above your available exams. Click the "History" button to view the results of your previously written exams.

WHAT IS PERMITTED/PROHIBITED FOR ONLINE PROCTORING DURING THE EXAM?

Candidates require a mirror or reflective surface to show the proctor the monitor. This can include a cell phone with a front facing camera or or an external USB camera. Cell phones will be put away once the monitor has been checked.

Candidates must test on a hard surface (not a bed or couch)

Position your desk with a closed door behind you.

Ensure your room is private and free of distractions.

Permitted Items

  • Bottled water (in a transparent bottle) is allowed at your workstation. No other items are permitted at your work station.
  • An online notepad will be available within the exam. Candidates are not permitted to use scrap paper.
